In a surge in Turkish military activity targeting civilian infrastructure and lives in northern Syria, a Turkish drone struck a water depot al-Qahtaniyah (Tirbespî) on Monday, causing material damage.
Several locations in the city of Hasakah (Hesekê) were targeted by Turkish drone strikes on Sunday. Mount Abdulaziz (Çiyayê Kezwanan) in the western countryside of Hasakah was struck twice, resulting in material damage, but no casualties have been reported so far. Additionally, Turkey and its affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA) mercenaries shelled the village of Tel al-Ward (Til El Werd) in Zargan (Zirgan) town, north of Hasakah, with heavy weaponry. The shelling led to further damage to residents’ properties.
Turkish war planes and drones have killed and wounded over 100 civilians, including women and press workers, in air strikes near northern Syria’s Tishreen (Tişrîn) Dam in the last 19 days, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to repel the attacks of the Turkish army and the SNA, both by means of on-the-ground battles and with the use of armed drones. The SDF said that they had killed 29 SNA mercenaries and wounded 15, and that its forces had targeted 25 positions near the Tishreen Dam with armed drones, destroying three tanks, three armored vehicles, and an ammunition depot on Sunday. Two vehicles equipped with Dushka heavy machine guns were also destroyed during the operation.
