🔸16 bar associations from Kurdish-majority provinces submitted a 17-point “to-do list” to Parliament, urging a democratic transition through legal reform, constitutional change, and recognition of Kurdish language and cultural rights.
🔸 Amnesty International has documented widespread unlawful police violence, including acts of torture, following protests against the controversial arrest of Istanbul’s Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, sparking mass demonstrations and public outrage.
🔸 The unveiling of a statue of Talat Pasha, regarded as the chief architect of the Armenian Genocide, sparked sharp condemnation from Syriac MP George Aslan of the pro-Kurdish DEM Party and exposed deep divisions in parliament over historical justice and the glorification of perpetrators.
🔸 Mazloum Abdî, commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has called for political dialogue, democratic reform, and constitutional recognition of Kurdish rights in Syria. Warning that the Israel–Iran conflict threatens regional stability and that foreign interventions hinder Syrians from shaping their own political future, he also stressed the importance of women’s leadership and the return of displaced Kurds.
