Six civilians were killed and one wounded in two separate Turkish air strikes in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) on Monday, local agency Roj News reported, as Turkish military attacks in the region continue.
An initial Turkish drone strike in the town of Dinarte (Dînarte) in Duhok (Dihok) province killed Cefer Celal Xalid Zêbarî and Tutê Akreyî, a married couple herding livestock at the time of the attack. Locals rushed to the site to retrieve the bodies.
A second drone strike targeted a vehicle in the Ranya district of Sulaymaniyah (Silêmanî) province, killing two women and two men. A motorcyclist driving behind the car at the time of the strike was also wounded in the attack.
According to Roj News, last year Turkish drone strikes killed a total of 33 civilians and injured 19, highlighting the scale of humanitarian casualties.
