The Turkish army shelled Hedriyat and Fatsa, two villages east of Ayn Issa in Tell Abyad (Girê Spî), North and East Syria on Thursday morning. As a result of the shelling, the water lines leading to the Hişe drinking water station in Hedriyat, which supplies water to 50 villages, were damaged, rendering it out of service. Relevant institutions started to repair the water line to the station.
The Turkish army has bombed infrastructure such as power stations, factories, irrigation canals, and drinking water towers, as well as agricultural land, olive groves and orchards in the region several times over the past few years. According to information from the region, these attacks have so far affected around one million people in northeastern Syria. A Rojava Information Centre report from January revealed the catastrophic regional impact of Turkish airstrikes.
