An olive oil factory in the city of Qamishli (Qamişlo), Kurdish-led northeast Syria, was attacked on Monday, with the extent of casualties and damage still unknown. While the identity of the attackers has not been officially confirmed, sources speaking to local news agency ANHA indicate the bombardment was likely to have been carried out by a Turkish drone.
The scale of damage to the targeted ‘Golden Flower’ olive oil factory and extent of human losses are yet to be determined, the agency added. The attack occurred in the Kerbawi suburb, located in the southern part of Qamishlo. Authorities are still assessing the situation to gather more information on the incident.
This event marks the latest incident amid a series of Turkish attacks in the Kurdish-led region.
