Three civilians, including a child, were killed when a Turkish drone strike targeted a vehicle in the village of Hermêle, located in the Çiwarta district of Sulaymaniyah province in Iraqi Kurdistan on Thursday, according to local officials.
The drone attack occurred in the early afternoon and struck a vehicle with a Sulaymaniyah license plate, local authorities said. “The attack was carried out by a Turkish drone, and three civilians were killed,” Çiwarta district chief Osman Enwer told Rojnews.
One of the victims was identified as a resident of Çemeke village, Enwer said. He added that one of the victims was a child who had fallen ill and was being transported when the strike occurred. The third victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed due to the condition of the remains.
In a separate incident, a Turkish airstrike on Wednesday in the Xelekan area, near the town of Dukan in Sulaymaniyah province, left a man and his two sons dead. The victims were identified as Muzefer Hisên Xidir and his sons Mihemed and Mubin, local sources said.
