In the city of Sanandaj (Sine), in Iranian Kurdistan (Rojhilat), the Peace (Ashiti) Mothers initiated a hunger strike on 17 October in solidarity with Warisheh Moradi, a member of the Free Women’s Society of Eastern Kurdistan (KJAR), currently on an indefinite hunger strike in Evin Prison. Their protest will last for three days, from 17 October to 20 October.
Despite the tense security situation in Kurdistan, the Peace Mothers of Rojhilat gathered at Mount Abider (Aviyer) in Sanandaj to protest against the death penalty.
In a powerful display of defiance, they symbolically burned nooses, chanting “No to execution, yes to a free life.” The mothers called upon international institutions to take a decisive stance against the implementation of death sentences in Iran.

Earlier, the “Mothers of the Revolution” expressed their solidarity with the resistance of Pakhshan Azizi and Warisheh Moradi in prison.
Warisheh Moradi, a member of KJAR, has been imprisoned in Evin for over 14 months. Despite facing two trials, her fate remains uncertain. On 10 October, in protest against Iran’s death sentences, Moradi announced her indefinite hunger strike by sending a letter from Evin prison.
