A Turkish armed drone has bombed a house in the northern Syrian city of Kobani (Kobanê), killing two civilians and injuring another, Roj News reported on Wednesday.
Local sources identified the victims as Azad Ali Mahmud and Shêro Meşîd. Another civilian, Neriman Süleyman, was wounded and taken to hospital.
The attack came after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) accused Turkey of targeting civilians in an escalating wave of air and artillery strikes across northern Syria. The SDF reported on Tuesday that at least 14 civilians, including a number of children, had been killed, and dozens injured in recent Turkish attacks on villages in the al-Dirbasiyah, Ain Issa and Sarrin regions.
One of the deadliest strikes occurred on 28 January, when a Turkish drone allegedly bombed a busy marketplace in Sarrin, south of Kobani, killing at least nine civilians and injuring 20 others. On the same day, artillery fire hit the village of Umm Harmalah in al-Dirbasiyah, killing three civilians, including one child.
Turkey has intensified its military attacks against Kurdish-held areas in northern Syria, claiming to target armed groups it considers a security threat. However, local reports highlight the increasing civilian toll in the conflict.
