Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple positions in Hama Governorate, western Syria, on Sunday night, leaving 14 people dead and 43 others injured, the country’s state media said.
The strikes hit areas close to the city of Masyaf in the countryside west of Hama Governorate. Syria’s state-run news agency SANA reported that government air defences “confronted an aggression targeting several positions” near Masyaf.
The airstrikes caused significant destruction, partially damaging the Masyaf – Wadi al-Uyun highway and igniting fires in the nearby Heer Abbas forest area. Dr Faysal Haydar, head of Masyaf National Hospital, confirmed that 14 people had been killed, and that 43 injured were treated at the facility following the airstrikes.
