Several media sources are reporting that the US-led coalition has entered the city of Kobani (Kobanê). The development will bolster hopes that a Turkish-backed invasion by Syrian National Army (SNA) forces might be avoided. There is currently heavy fighting between SNA mercenaries and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at the Tishreen Dam, which is to the southwest of the city.
