According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), on 22 October, a confrontation between the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces and the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) resulted in the death of one IRGC member, while at least three others were wounded.
The conflict reportedly occurred when IRGC forces were passing through the village of Diwezinav in the Sarvabad (Sewlawa) region. The clash resulted in the death of an IRGC officer, identified as Mohammad Ahmadpour.
The incident was also reported by the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim and Fars news agencies, confirming the IRGC officer’s death and the injury of three others.
The governor of Kamyaran city in Kermanshah province, Kianoosh Thaqafinia, confirmed the identity of the slain IRGC officer as Mohammad Ahmadpour, a resident of Kamyaran, in a statement to the Mashreq News website, which is affiliated with Iran’s security forces.
This killing of an IRGC member in the Sarvabad region underscores the ongoing conflict between Iranian security forces and Kurdish guerrillas in Iranian Kurdistan.
