Two civilians were killed in a Turkish drone strike in Qamishli (Qamişlo), northern Syria, on 28 August. The attack comes just days after two Kurdish women journalists, Gulistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn, were killed in a Turkish drone strike in Iraqi Kurdistan.
According to Fırat News Agency, Xalide Mihemed Şerif (45) and her son Hejar Ednan Silêman (24) were killed in the Turkish drone strike in the Al-Antariya (Enteriye) neighbourhood of Qamishli, between a post office and bus terminal.
The mother and son killed in the drone strike will be buried at the Delil Saroxan cemetery in Qamishli on Thursday evening.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) had published a statement accusing the Turkish state and its affiliated Islamist militias of being responsible for the attack.
