Turkish soldiers assault villagers in Şanlıurfa, Turkey

A row between soldiers and villagers in the Siverek (Sêwreg) district of Şanlıurfa (Riha) led to soldiers beating the villagers, according to recently released footage.

When Turkish soldiers attemped to detain Mehmet Aytar, an argument broke out. Soldiers then attacked the villagers who were trying to prevent Aytar’s detention.

A woman, known as Z.A., was also beaten by soldiers during the incident.

In the footage a woman is seen crying and holding her ear. The villager who is taping the incident says “that one hit” pointing to a soldier.
