Turkey’s artillery targeted the vicinity of a Russian military base in Aleppo northern countryside with three shells on Saturday according to a military source, North Press reported.
The Turkish forces, deploying in Basselhaya village simultaneously, also shelled Syrian government forces’ posts in the village of Ibbin.
The Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions Syrian National Army (SNA) also targeted Kafr Anton and Shawargha villages in north of Aleppo, with dozens of artillery shells earlier on in the day.
The Turkish forces have expanded their shelling of the vicinity of the Russian military base near Faisal Mill area, a military source said.
The Turkish forces then shelled the highway between the town of Tell Rifat and Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, an eyewitness told reporters.
There were no reported casualties on these shellings.
Meanwhile, Turkey has increased the frequency of shelling and drone strikes in north Syria in recent months, having already conducted 42 strikes between June 2020 and July 2022. Since the beginning of this year, at least 27 people have been killed in 38 Turkish attacks on northern Syria.
