Fifty photographers from all around the world collaborated with fifty prisoners in Turkey to create an exhibition called “Voice of Freedom”.
The photography exhibition depicts ‘symbols of freedom’ from both the photographers and the prisoners’ perspectives.
Organized by the Görülmüştür Collective and Redfotoğraf Group, the exhibition will run until 20 September in Taksim Karşı Sanat place in Istanbul.
Görülmüştür Collective and Redfotoğraf Group have worked together before. They previously organized exhibitions focusing on the themes of “A photography bridge from inside to out and outside to in” and “Dreams cannot be kept in prison”. These exhibitions highlighted the violations of the rights of prisoners in Turkey.
The organisers hope that “Voice of Freedom” can show us what it means to be ‘free’ from the eyes of photographers and prisoners.
