According to Mesopotamia News Agency, Ali Boçnak (76), who was detained during an investigation carried out as part of the operations against the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), lost his life in Patnos L-type Prison, in the Kars (Qers) province of Turkey, on 23 September.
He was sentenced to seven years and eight months in prison and had been held in Patnos L-type Prison since 2017.
His family received his mortal remains after a period of 24 hours. His body was then taken to Patnos Public Hospital’s mortuary and tested for Covid-19. Following a negative result, his family took his body to Ağrı Public Hospital’s mortuary for a forensic report. Afterward, they took his body to his home city of Kars to hold the funeral.
Last week a social media campaign was launched for ill prisoner Boçnak.
He was on the ill prisoners’ list of the Human Rights Association (İHD) and was suffering from renal failure among other diseases.
