Reactions continue to build across Kurdistan after the military operation launched by Turkey against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Metina, Avaşin and Zap in Iraqi Kurdistan.
As Turkey’s assaults on Zap, Avaşin and Metina in Iraqi Kurdistan continue, the Communist Party of Kurdistan (KKP) criticised the operation, while residents of Qamishli also reacted against the assaults.
KKP Secretariat General Necimeddin Mela Ömer said the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) should act responsibly in reacting to Turkey’s assaults.
Ömer drew attention to the silence of Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan and said Iraq did not want Kurdish people to exercise their rights. Calling on the Kurdistan Regional Government, Ömer said it should make a stand against Turkey’s assaults on the Medya Defense Zones.
Meanwhile people living in Qamishli reacted to Turkey’s latest attacks and called for unity among Kurds. They also asked the Kurdistan Regional Government not to remain silent on the assaults.
