“Through this, we both spend good times at home with the children, and the children both learn Kurdish and enjoy themselves”, he said in an interview with Mesopotamia News Agency.
Alagöz lives in Igdir province in the eastern side of Turkey and believes that receiving an education in the mother language is very important for children. But he noted that: “This is not possible in Turkey because of the assimilation politics used against the Kurds”.
“You will speak Kurdish at work, you will teach your children Kurdish. Let the children know Turkish as well as Armenian, but first of all, they should know and speak their mother tongue”, he said
