A Syrian family living in the Bayraklı district of İzmir was attacked by their neighbours for “making too much noise”. One of the family members, Muhammed Savaş, was seriously injured, according to a report by the Mesopotamia News Agency.

Muhammed’s brother, Amir Savaş, explained the incident as follows: “We did not do anything to them but they yelled at us and used insulting language. They knew that we were Syrian and started shouting at us, saying ‘We are not comfortable here because of you, we do not want you here’. They they started attacking us”.
Police officers arrived at the scene after the attack. The statements of two Syrian brothers were taken by the police, but it is not yet known whether the attackers were questioned.
