The hunger strike launched by political prisoners in Turkey to protest against the prison isolation conditions of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan and the violations of rights in prisons has reached its 91st day in Turkey. Related solidarity hunger strike actions have reached their 70th day in Makhmour Camp in Iraqi Kurdistan and the 53rd day in Lavrio camp in Greece.
Vigils under the scope of the ‘It is time to ensure freedom’ campaign have also been continuing in several cities across Europe. These actions, according to the organisers, will continue until their demands are addressed.
The vigils calling for the removal of the prison isolation conditions that have been imposed on Öcalan and that have also been calling for his freedom continue in several cities of Europe. Various other protest actions and events have been taking place in France and Germany demanding Öcalan’s freedom.
