Women in Switzerland and France protested Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s decision to withdraw Turkey from the Istanbul Convention.
The Zin Women’s Initiative organised a meeting in Strasbourg and called for the strengthening of the struggle.
Gathering outside Strasbourg Station, women reacted against the anti-woman policies of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and President Erdoğan.
Protests and marches were also held in several other cities in Europe, including Paris, Bern and Basel.
During protests women drew attention to the political nature of femicide and said the impunity granted to murderers during the AKP’s reign was proof of that fact.
