On 9 October, the Iraq government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced an agreement regarding the administration and security of the region of Sinjar.
The agreement was made without the will of the Yazidi community in Sinjar or the participation of Yazidis in Sinjar and the diaspora immediately declared these concerns. People from Kurdistan have been protesting the nature of the agreement in many cities in Europe. Protests were held this weekend in Geneva, Oslo and Hanover.
Protesters raised slogans at demonstrations that stated: “We reject this agreement which was held without the will of the Yazidi community in Sinjar”.
