The hunger strike launched by political prisoners on 27 November continues. Prisoners demand the removal of the isolation imposed on Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan and an end to rights violations in prisons.
The strike action continues on its 72nd day with relatives of prisoners calling for support.
Meanwhile hunger strikes launched in the Makhmour Camp in Iraqi Kurdistan and the Lavrio Camp in Greece continue.
Nerman Aydın, the mother of the prisoner Velat Aydın, said she was concerned for those on hunger strike.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Habip Eksik commented on the meaning of Öcalan’s isolation.
