The vigil launched on 2 December by the people of Sinjar to support the Yazidi Asayish (Yazidi security forces in Sinjar) and to protest the agreement signed between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) continues on its 12th day.
Demonstrations of solidarity also took place in North and East Syria to support the people of Sinjar. On its 12th day, the Xenasor group relieved the vigil which launched under the motto “We are all Asayish”.
According to local sources, Iraqi Internal Affairs Minister Osman Xanmî and a committee are expected to visit people who are taking part in the vigil.
People came from everywhere to support the demonstration, according to citizens of Sinjar. Digorê Assembly co-chair Hecî Hacid said that they would continue their actions unless the Iraqi government supported them and accept their demands.
“We support our Asayish forces and we will do everything to protect them. Because those who aim to take over the Asayish are those who aim to take over Sinjar and remove the Yazidi community”, said Hacid.
