Oslo City Council has rejected Turkey’s demand to remove an art exhibition called “Rojava: Women’s Revolution” by the Kurdish artist Gelawêj Welidxanî.
Although the exhibition has been popular among locals in Oslo, Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked for it to be removed.
But, despite threats from Turkish associations and fascist groups in Norway, the Oslo Municipal Cultural Committee unanimously refused to give in to Turkey’s demands and the exhibition can still be seen in Rosenkrantz Street.
