People living in the Al-Darbasiyah (Dirbêsiyê) province of Rojava spoke to Hawar News Agency regarding Abdullah Öcalan’s role in the solution to emerging problems in the Middle East.
They said the 22-year-long isolation of Abdullah Öcalan cannot prevent the spread of his thoughts.
‘We dream of a free Öcalan’
“We dream of an Öcalan who is finally free”, said a local citizen named Siham Mihemed. “We dream of him among people. The demand of the Kurdish people is Öcalan’s freedom.
“The demand of the Kurdish people, who are attacked by the Turkish state, is also peace. The Turkish state, which prevents dialogue with Öcalan, cannot break our will, but it strengthens our resolve to resist each and every attack”, she said.
‘The aim is to destroy Kurdish existence’
Hesen Şêx Dawud, another citizen of Al-Darbasiyah (Dirbêsiyê), emphasised that an international conspiracy aims to destroy the Kurdish way of life.
“In order to free Kurdish people’s leader Öcalan, the Kurds should resist in all four parts of Kurdistan and give voice to their demands out loud”, Dawud said.
‘Rojava revolution is Öcalan’s achievement’
İmad Biro said Öcalan is capable of proposing solutions for all the problems emerging in the Middle East, but the capitalist nation state is afraid of such a solution in the region. The Rojava revolution in northern Syria is a product of Öcalan’s thought and therefore the revolution is his achievement, said Biro.
