New evidence emerges about the suspicious death of Nadira Kadirova in Turkey

New evidence emerges about the suspicious death of Nadira Kadirova in Turkey

Nadira Kadirova (23) died in the home of Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy Şirin Ünal on 23 September 2019. Kadirova was an Özbek immigrant worker and she was working as a caretaker for the family. It was claimed that she shot herself dead with ruling party deputy Ünal’s weapon in her room. The prosecutor’s office had concluded that there was a lack of grounds for legal action and the investigation into the incident had been dismissed.

However, Kadirova’s family claims that she did not kill herself but that she was murdered. They took the case to the Constitutional Court. New footage has emerged from BirGün newspaper about her suspicious death in Şirin Ünal’s home. “There was a fight in Kadirova’s room”, says family’s attorney Professor İlyas Doğan.

The video shows a flower pot that had fallen to the ground, an overturned coffee table and lampshade, a couple of bags, as well as traces of blood in several places in the room. Şirin Ünal’s daughter, Duygu Ünal, is also seen in the footage. It is against the law, says attorney Doğan: “There are puddles of blood in three different places and all three places are distanced from one another. While blood is seen in three different areas on the carpet, there is also blood on the quilt on the bed.

“Furthermore, AKP deputy Şirin Ünal’s daughter is seen accompanying the crime scene investigation team, the members of the Security Directorate. This is completely against procedures. Put in the simplest terms, she was also in the building at the moment of the death so she should not have accompanied the crime scene investigation teams. She should have been kept outside the scene of death. Also, Duygu Ünal or any another person entering the room and walking around will cause an important contamination of evidence”.
