The United Nations has spoken out to condemn Turkey’s deadly assault on civilians in Iraqi Kurdistan, which killed nine civilians and has provoked international outcry. Meanwhile, voices have also been raised elsewhere against Turkish policies, with the leader of the main opposition party claiming that Kurdish politician Selahattin Demirtas has been jailed unjustly.
On the other hand, a number of Turkish teachers are facing a private prosecution for anti-Kurdish posts on the internet.
