Damascus has demanded that Turkey withdraw all its troops controlling territories in northern Syria, and cut off its support to three main opposition factions, a source close to the negotiations between the two countries told Reuters.
Anti-Assad protesters dismissed the leader of a Turkish-backed rebel coalition Salim al-Muslat as a âtraitorâ during protests against rapprochement talks between Turkish and Syrian governments in the northern Syrian city of Azaz.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces Mazlum AbdĂź said on Saturday that he welcomed Saudi Arabia and Egyptâs rejection of any regional military threats against Syria, referring to Turkeyâs aggression against the country.
Turkeyâs left-wing alliance, led by the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party, has kicked off its electoral campaign with a mass rally in Istanbul.
After the Yazidis’ long history of denial and oppression by the governments of the region, communities in North and East Syria are celebrating the traditional Batzmi holiday this year without fear or the need for secrecy.
