Mazlum Abdi and Aldar Xelil condemn the assault against Hewler

As a result of the assault against Hewler (Erbil) in Iraqi Kurdistan, one person died and eight, including United States (US) soldiers, got injured. Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander Mazlum Abdi and Democratic Union Party Co Presidency council member Aldar Xelil commented on the incident.

The assault carried out by rockets took place in the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Hewler in the evening hours on Febraury 15.

The assault targeted the airport where US soldiers were located and one staff lost his/her life, eight, including one US soldier, were injured.

The source of the US Defense Ministery (Pentagon) stated that four rockets hit the soldiers’ campus. In total 14 rockets were launched/used during the assault.

Aldar Xelil and Mazlum Abdi condemned the assault

Democratic Union Party Co Presidency Council member Aldar Xelil expressed his get well wishes on social media and said, “This is an incident that should be widely condemned. The aim of this assault is to bring Iraqi Kurdistan into line and make it endure blackmail.”

On the other hand, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander Mazlum Abdi shared a social media post and condemned the assault carried out against Hewler. Abdis, said, “Yesterday evening an assault was carried out against Hewler and the area around the airport. We condemn those attacks and we state that the aim of the attack is to create instability in Iraqi Kurdistan.”
