The Binarê Qandil Preparatory Committee has issued a statement calling on all countries and political parties in South Kurdistan to join the Newroz celebrations in the “spirit of Garê resistance”.
The Committee announced its Newroz programme and preparations in a press release.
Speaking on behalf of the Committee, Şinyar Resûl, the co-chair of the People’s Assembly of Binarê Qandil, called on the people and political parties of South Kurdistan to join this year’s Newroz events in the spirit of Garê resistance.
“Kurdish artists, including Nasir Rezazi, Diyar Dersim and Jîna Seqizî will be performing at the celebration in Binarê Qandil, which will take place on 21 March”, said Resûl.
Resûl asked that Kurdish people welcome Newroz 2021 and use it as an opportunity to declare their resistance. “From the ages of seven to seventy, we call on all people to participate in the Newroz celebrations. As the Newroz Preparatory Committee of Binarê Qandil, we are ready to warmly welcome all the people and political parties of South Kurdistan”.
