Iran will hold its next presidential elections on 18 June 2021, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Jamal Orff, stated.
Orff announced that the Constitutional Guardians Council decided to hold the presidential elections on that date.
Concerning electoral participation rates expected in these elections, Orff said: “I think this will depend on many economic, social and political factors at that time”.
“It is too early to say something now but, in my opinion, the public will be responsible for choosing the people who will serve for four or eight years in the executive when they go to the polls”, he said.
