Many activists in Iraq organised protests against the backdrop of the Turkish bombardment of Zakho (Zaxo) that killed at least nine civilians including three children.
Some angry protestors gathered near a Turkish visa application centre in the Shia majority city of Najaf on Wednesday.
The protestors picketed the office and removed the Turkish flag from the top of the building, Shafaq News agency reported.
The protestors, in Dhi Qar and al-Muthanna, called on the Iraqi government to put an end to Turkey’s continuous attacks on Iraqi lands, demanding a call to boycott Turkish products.
Protesters also gathered in front of the Turkish embassy in Baghdad.
The security authorities in Baghdad deployed heavy reinforcements near the Turkish visa application centre in Baghdad in anticipation of protests nearby.
