Aygül Doku, the sister of Gülistan Doku – who has been missing for 323 days – has been fined 50,000 Turkish lira after being accused of preventing the main suspect from moving home.
After meeting with Zeynal Abarakov in Dersim, Munzur University student Gülistan Doku went missing. Aygül Doku was fined 50,000 TL for “damaging property”. The fine was based on the accusation that she prevented the main suspect, Zaynal Abarakov’s stepfather, Ergin Yücel, from moving home in Tunceli (Dersim).
‘Criminal investigation was not made’
According to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA), Aygül Doku said that criminal investigations were not carried out in their apartment and that therefore the suspect should be prevented from moving. Stating that she did not damage any property, Doku said, “What would a judge or prosecutor do in my position? There was no criminal investigation in that apartment. Is there a trace or not? Maybe there is a trace of my missing sister in the apartment”.
Doku continued: ”The police also did not allow the items to be moved. The police knew that a criminal investigation was not completed. On that day, the police did not allow them to move. T suspect’s stepfather, Engin Yücel, says ‘Aygül Doku damaged my property to the cost of 50,000 TL’. They took my sister from us. It was not enough, so they are fining me 50,000 lira”.
