As part of the “End Isolation, Fascism, Occupation: Time to Ensure Freedom” campaign, initiated by the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) and the Kurdistan Communities of Women (KJK), a “Freedom for Öcalan” banner was flown across the sky in Australia.
For two hours the “Freedom for Öcalan” banner was flown high above crowded areas in the city of Pert, drawing the eyes of many.
“The Freedom for Öcalan” campaign has been ongoing since 12 September and various protests have been held around the world.
“The systematic isolation has been applied for years by Turkey against the Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan”, said the organising committee behind the banner. “We will continue our protests until freedom is ensured and his isolation has come to an end”.
