The fourth concert in the series “The sound of the past: Amida Concerts” is scheduled to take place in the coming days in the streets of Suriçi in Diyarbakır (Amed), Turkey.
The concert series, organised by the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO), takes place in the settings of historical sites around Diyarbakır. The coordinator of the concerts, Şêrko Kanîwar, stated they will hold more concerts of this kind in coming days.
The fourth Suriçi concert will be broadcast on the social media account of DTSO. Previous concerts in the series took place in Hasuni Caves, Zerzevan Castle and King’s Graves. MA Music and other artists have been key participants in the series.
MA Music project coordinator and educator Şêrko Kanîwar said the Amida concert series reveals the precious nature of the historical sites in the city and added that surprise artists would be participating in forthcoming concerts. Kanîwar stated that colourful and lively concerts will be organised until Newroz. Music should be for everyone, everywhere, Kanîwar noted. DTSO’s Deputy Chairman Ercan Avşar observed that Diyarbakır’s diverse cultural and historical presence and treasures and are not well known. The Amida concert programme is aimed at increasing awareness and supporting and promoting cultural diversity.
