As International Women’s Day approaches women continue to organise events in North and East Syria.
Women’s institutions held two different exhibitions as part of the 8 March events.
The North and East Syria Kevana Zêrîn Cultural Movement organised an exhibition with the motto “Our struggle is the guarantee of the women’s revolution”, featuring photographs of, and books by, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Many writers, intellectuals, and representatives of political parties attended the exhibition held at the Qamishli Mihemed Şêxo Culture and Art Centre Hall.
The Dirbêsiyê Congress and Star Coordination of the Al Hasakah Canton also organised an exhibition of paintings, handicrafts, and items reflecting the cultural values of the Kurdish people, while the Raqqa Women’s Administration opened the Women’s Centre in the Medina district ahead of International Women’s Day.
