European Union (EU) foreign ministers made statements on their negotiations with Turkey ahead of the EU leaders’ summit, which will be held on 10-11 December.
European foreign ministers discussed measures against Turkey at a meeting on Monday. There has been no de-escalation in Eastern Mediterranean conflict over the last few months, said Germany’s foreign minister Heiko Maas. “Germany has worked hard to facilitate a dialogue between the European Union and Turkey over recent months”, said Maas before meeting his EU counterparts.
Speaking to reporters in Brussels after the meeting, Maas said, “We could not get a result from the negotiations with Turkey”.
