Twelve people, including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) district administrators and Human Right Association (İHD) members, were detained in home raids in Maraş (Mereş) in Turkey.
They were taken into custody by police and gendarmerie in Nurhak and Ekinözü districts of Maraş province on Wednesday. The detained included HDP Nurhak district executive Bahir Horoz, the İHD member Volkan Doğan, HDP Ekinözü district’s former administrators Hacı Uzun and Dursun Bahça and HDP members Mehmet Biçer, Emre Genç and Bese Usta.
The detainees were reportedly taken to Maraş Provincial Security Directorate.
