📍Nine of the journalists arrested in Turkey earlier this week have been released, on orders from the judge. Five more have had their detention extended, accused of membership of a terrorist organisation.
📍Tuncer Bakırhan, co-chair of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party, has stressed the need for genuine dialogue and negotiation to resolve Turkey’s long-standing Kurdish problem.
📍Sirwe Pourmohammadi, a Kurdish language teacher and a member of the board of directors of the Nujin Socio-Cultural Association in Sanandaj (Sine) has been sentenced to five years in prison.
📍Terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham has launched a new wave of attacks on Aleppo’s outskirts, triggering unrest in Syria. Supported by Turkey, the group aims to seize control of Aleppo.
