📍 On 23 August 2024, a Turkish drone strike in Sulaymaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan, killed journalists Guilistan Taara and Haero Bahadeen, and seriously injured Rabin Bakir.
📍 A deadly Turkish drone strike in Sulaymaniyah has prompted urgent calls for an investigation by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and various Kurdish and international organisations.
📍 The Kurdistan National Congress, the Turkish Press Workers’ Union and other groups are demanding action over the deadly Turkish drone strike in Sulaymaniyah that killed two journalists and injured another.
📍 And a recent UNDP report highlighted serious problems of corruption in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
