During the United Nations General Assembly this week, President Erdoğan defended Turkey’s actions in Syria and Iraq and addressed concerns about the nature of his commitment to neighbouring countries’ territorial integrity.
In an official statement, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry has strongly implied that is responsible for the drone strike on an airport in Iraqi Kurdistan’s Sulaymaniyah on Monday. Several members of a counter-terror group were killed in the attack.
An Iraqi Kurdistan media network, known as Diplomatic, reported that a leading Kurdish drone engineer was targeted in the Sulaymaniyah drone attack, while International Peacemakers Teams in Iraq reported that members of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces’ arrived at the airport just minutes before the entire building was destroyed from above.
A Russian-brokered ceasefire has been reached following a fatal Azerbaijan operation carried out in Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan’s attack on the ethnic Armenian enclave left 25 dead, and thousands were forced to evacuate.
