A group of young artists and activists in Kirkuk have created a major new art exhibition focussing on Kurdistan and Iraq.
The name of the exhibition is “Kokirdinewey Rengekan” (“Collecting the Colours”). The exhibition was presented in the eminent historic building of Kirkuk.
One hundred and twenty artists from South Kurdistan’s various cities presented their work, amounting to 150 pieces altogether.
The exhibition was displayed on the walls of Kirkuk’s historic building. It aims to revive the artistic memories of the Kirkuk people, dating back to 3500 BC.
Through this exhibition the youth of the city were able to intertwine the aesthetic of architecture with fine art.
