Former United States (US) Foreign Minister Hilary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea Clinton have decided the topic of their first TV series.
According to Azad Barış’s report, as shareholders of the TV company, Hilary Clinton and her daughter have bought the rights of broadcasting for the dramatisation of Gayle Tzemach Lemmon’s new book, published on 16 Feb 2021, The Daughters of Kobani: A Story of Rebellion, Courage, and Justice on behalf of Hidden Light Productions company.
However, any agreement has not yet been signed.
The book Daughters of Kobani ,expected to be published by Penguin Press on February 16, is based on several interviews and reports regarding the women fighters who fought against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and liberated North East Syria.
After this extraordinary fight, another powerful struggle that has established and spread social gender equality throughout the Middle East and beyond, has emerged.
During the long-term resistance process, Kurdish fighters earned the US Army’s respect and support as well.
‘We are incredibly excited’
Clinton said about The Daughters of Kobani “It is an extraordinary story of brave women who have struggled for justice and equality.”
Clinton commented on the new project and said, “We founded Hidden Light to introduce heroes, whose courage are usually ignored, by everyone and we are getting incredibly excited that we will present that inspirational story to audiences around the whole world.
