Amedspor have announced that they are to make an appeal to UEFA and FIFA after an incident that occurred during the match between the club and Ankara Demirspor. Amedspor went on to make an appeal to the Turkish Professional Football Discipline Board (PFDK), but this was rejected.
Punishments of a one-match stadium ban and a 4,000 TL fine were issued to Amedspor by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) because of slogans chanted by Amedspor fans during a match in which Amedspor defeated the rivals Ankara Demirspor 2-1 on their home ground. Amedspor published a statement after an appeal against the punishment was rejected by the PFDK, MA reported.
“As everyone knows, our appeal against the punishment issued by the TFF to play without fans because of the ‘incident’ during the Ankara Demirspor match was rejected. But after the vandalism we were exposed to during the away match we played against Eskişehirspor last week, Eskişehirspor was referred to the TFF for the third time due to incidents in their home ground, but the TFF only fined them 8,000 TL.”
Referees are biassed
“Because of this biased and and unlawful approach of the TFF, we are laid open to lynching and many other dangers during our away games. Referees are also affected by this approach, and they can influence the score of the matches we play,” Amedspor stated.
We will seek justice
“We want it to be known that no matter how we are treated in our away games, we will continue to be an exemplary football club in spite of everything, we will never give up the principle that ‘sports should be played in the spirit of friendship and peace’ in our own stadium and city. We would like to point out that such an approach toward our team should not be tolerated by the TFF, and we demand an immediate end to the unlawful decisions. We would also like to inform the public that if the unlawful punishments we are exposed to continue, we will take legal action to protect the rights of our club within the rules of UEFA and FIFA.”
From time to time Amedspor is exposed to racist slogans from spectators in away matches. In a match between Amedspor and Ankaragücü on 24 April 2016, officials of Amedspor were attacked with iron bars, and five people from Amedspor were injured in the attack .
