Amed City Theatre re-opens in Diyarbakir (Amed)

2:05 am 01/02/2021

Amed City Theatre in Diyarbakir (Amed) is reopening with the play ‘Hema Hema Jin: Elizabeth’ (‘Almost women: Elizabeth’) on 6 November. The theatre was closed due to coronavirus precautions for months.

The theatre is taking bookings for 77 people in the 160-seat hall and all precautions are being taken because of the pandemic. “We have to take every precaution for both cleanliness and the health of the audience”, said actress Rezan Kaya.

The cast is excited about the re-opening event and looks forward to performing before the live audience. Actresses Avşîn Adıgüzel and Rezan Kaya said: “Our director is a woman and it is a play about women. In this play, we are actually trying to show what we want to criticize as women”.
