As the military operation launched by Turkey against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Metina, Avaşin, and Zap (also known as the Medya Defence Zones) in Iraqi Kurdistan continues, protests are also continuing throughout the world.
The Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement and Young Women’s Union organised a protest in Derik against Turkey’s offensive in Iraqi Kurdistan. They condemned Turkey’s attacks against the Medya Defence Zones and marched with torches in the streets of Derik, chanting slogans supporting the Kurdish fighters.
Later, Şînda Baco, a member of Youth Women Unity, read a statement on behalf of the group and said, “We Kurds will continue to resist against occupation everywhere”.
