The conference opened with a stark recognition of the systemic crises facing the world, including the worsening ecological crisis, the intensification of wars, the rise of nationalism and fascist movements, and the relentless pursuit of profit at the expense of the environment. Participants stressed that these issues affect not only their personal lives but also the global community.
Key points of the “Youth Writing History” declaration include:
Rejection of capitalism:
The declaration emphasises that a solution to the current global crisis can only be achieved by dismantling the existing capitalist system and replacing it with a new, just and truly democratic world order.
Global unity:
The conference calls for the unity of all democratic-revolutionary and anti-systemic forces worldwide, emphasising the need for mutual respect for different forms of organisation, methods of struggle and political traditions.
Unity in diversity:
The declaration promotes “unity in diversity”, focusing on common goals and resolute opposition to capitalism, while accommodating differences and diversity in theory and practice.
Internationalism:
Participants emphasise the importance of internationalism and the belief that a better world can only be achieved through the united struggle of all oppressed people worldwide.
Opposition to domination and exploitation:
The conference condemns all forms of domination, exploitation, capitalism and ideologies that promote oppression based on gender, sexual identity, race, religion, disability, language or nationality.
Solidarity with oppressed peoples:
Participants express solidarity with all oppressed peoples, especially the Palestinian people and the Kurdish liberation movement, while opposing imperialism and colonialism.
Fight against fascism:
The declaration identifies fascism as a common enemy of humanity and emphasises its firm support for anti-fascist struggles.
Youth empowerment:
The participants see youth as the dynamic engine of social change and stress the importance of autonomous youth organisation based on their own strength and independent will.
Support for revolutionary struggles:
The conference expresses solidarity with revolutionary struggles around the world and recognises liberated and self-governing territories as outposts of free humanity.
International solidarity:
In the face of coordinated repression by the world’s rulers, the declaration calls for global cohesion and international solidarity, especially in supporting the freedom of all revolutionary prisoners.
At the end of the conference, the youth issued a resounding call to action in the spirit of the 1848 Communist Manifesto:
Young people of all countries, unite and change this world!
