1:16 pm 22/02/2021

The Culture Committee of the Cizre region is organising the sixth Women’s Literature and Arts Festival in North East Syria. It will be held between 1-2 March 2021.

The festival has been organised under the slogan “Women renew the spirit of cultures” and will include poetry, short stories, literary interviews, theatre productions, sculptures, and paintings. Women from all regions of Northern and Eastern Syria, Bakur, ‘North Kurdistan’, Rojhilat ‘Eastern Kurdistan’, and Europe will participate in the festival.

Handicraft competitions will be held during the festival and cultural clothing of Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac peoples will also be exhibited. Many music bands and art groups from all over North and East Syria and the Cizre region will be participating in the festival.

Cizre Region Culture and Arts Directorate Co-President and Festival Committee Member Sûad Hisên says that they expect this year’s festival to be better attended than in previous years.
