In a new wave of detentions targeting students and Kurds living in Iran, the number of detained people since 8 January increased to twenty nine, according to Hawar News Agency.
Kurdistan Human Rights Association announced that in a number of new operations launched by the Iranian regime, more students and Kurdish citizens were detained in Qereqesab’s Nexede region in Iran. Ebdullah Hacî Ehmedî, Peyman Hacî Ehmedî, Xatu Gelawêj Ebdulahî and Hasan Ebdi are among those detained. Activist Hisên Gerdşi was reportedly detained on 11 January in Bokane and taken to Urmiye.
